AR.Drone by Parrot – iPad/iPhone controlled Helicopter

Combine augmented reality, a helicopter and an iPad/iPhone and you get the AR Drone from France based Parrot. The helicopter has four fans that allow it to fly in any direction. It streams video from the cameras mounted on its front and bottom back to the controlling device. The software on the phone includes controls to increase and decrease the altitude of the drone and tilting the phone controls the motion.

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey announced his new company on Tuesday in appropriate fashion: with a tweet on the network he created in 2006. His new company, Square, allows merchants and individuals accept secure payment from credit (and other) cards using a mobile phone.

Sergey Brin’s Surprise Web 2.0 Visit: The Video

On Thursday, Google co-founder Sergey Brin made a surprise visit to the Web 2.0 Summit and was interviewed on-stage by John Battelle for about 18 minutes.
