The Magpul Ronin is an experimental motorcycle project based on the Buell 1125R sport bike. Taken from the Japanese word for a samurai who lost his master, the name “Ronin” was chosen after the Buell Motorcycle Company ceased production and closed its doors in 2009.

The Magpul Ronin pays homage to classics like the Vincent Black Shadow and to the café racer and streetfighter cultures that so heavily influence its design. The bike’s most noticeable feature is its girder-style fork which, according to Magpul, has led to improvements in rigidity and tunability, and which provides a lighter and more responsive feel up front.

The bike, which weighs about 22kg less than the ordinary Buell 1125R, is currently an ongoing project and more changes may be incorporated into the bike as the project develops further.

However, there is no word on whether Magpul will produce a small series of these bikes for those who really want to buy the Ronin Concept. In any case, we have to say that we love the design of the bike! Great work, Magpul

With new advancements in materials and manufacturing techniques, modern or futuristic products are becoming minimal, presenting simple though attractive products. The futuristic bicycle by Wisconsin-based designer John Villarreal features an identical bike design that removing all extra parts from the body and wheels not only looks gorgeous but seems to promise a comfortable ride. Featuring a lightweight body, possibly finished in carbon fiber or power coated aluminum, the futuristic bicycle also integrates LED lights on the handlebar and at the rear to ensure safety at night. And hubless wheels simply give it a trendy, futuristic look.

Suzuki’s concept bike Falcorustyco was not missed by many of the visitors of the 1.2 million motorcycle enthusiasts that visited the Tokyo Motor Show in November 1985. The concept bike (a one of a kind experimental model, not for sale) surely looked different, and had some interesting technical solutions as well.

Although the Falcorustyco was the designers high-tech dream bike, Suzuki had intentions to make a concept bike that was not impossible to put into serial production within a few years.

The Falcorustyco had no frame like a normal bike. The front and the rear swing arms were attached to the 500cc square four engine. Not the RG500 Gamma engine – According to Suzuki it was a new water-cooled four-stroke power plant with 16 valves and three cam shafts.

The final drive was not chain, belt or shaft, like all the other bikes. No, Suzuki chose to use hydraulic pumps that transported the movement energy to both wheels. No gear box was needed. Hydraulic hub-steer.

The brakes were electromagnet type and the suspension was maneuvered electrically.

The motorcycles journalists were convinced that the Falcorustyco (a Latin word for gyrfalcon) would be mass produced in the near future. They were partly right. A model called gyrfalcon was produced by Suzuki in 1999, the GSX1300R Hayabusa (a Japanese word for gyrfalcon), but it was a conventional motorcycle with chain drive, an inline-four with two cam shafts and conventional brakes and steering…
